McDilda-Holland Endowment

Scholarship is to be awarded to students conducting study or research in the area of alcohol or drug prevention and/or rehabilitation. $1,200


Hospital Authority of Bulloch County

Students must be from Bulloch County and are majoring in a health related program of study. $800

School of Nursing Scholarships
Curtis G. Hames Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must be residents of Georgia, whose home address is within the 43-county East Georgia Area. Applicants must be majoring in Nursing and enrolled full time with a C Average or better. $1,000


Albert Deal Nursing Scholarship

Criteria for determining eligibility include the applicant’s academic record, personal character and demonstrated talents. The scholarship is open to full time students who are enrolled in the GSU nursing program. $2,200


Marguerite Marie “Pearl” Wiesenfeld Scholarship

Criteria for determining the eligibility for the scholarship will be the applicant’s academic record and will be open to full time GSU nursing students. $650


Helen T. Cannon Scholarship

Awarded to outstanding nursing students. $1,100


Joe W. Franklin and Bertha D. Franklin Memorial Scholarship

Student must be a resident of Georgia and must have and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher. The recipient may be in the undergraduate or graduate program. The scholarship is renewable if the recipient maintains the requirements of this agreement as reviewed by the nursing department scholarship committee. If there are no qualified recipients, the scholarship shall be awarded to the best recipient based on the judgment and decision of the Nursing Department Scholarship Committee or the money shall be added back to the principal of the scholarship fund. $500


Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship

Financially needy and deserving young women who are nursing majors and residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. $1,000


Auxiliary East Georgia Regional Scholarship

First preference will be given to a Bulloch County resident who has graduated from a high school in Bulloch County or who has maintained residency in Bulloch County for five years prior to being accepted into the School of Nursing Program to obtain a BSN degree at Georgia Southern University.

If, in a given year, a Bulloch County resident is not found, the Auxiliary of East Georgia Regional Medical Nursing Scholarship may be designated to a resident who has graduated from a high school in any of the following surrounding counties or who has maintained residency in any of these counties for five years prior to being accepted into the School of Nursing Program to obtain a BSN degree at Georgia Southern University: Bryan, Candler, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Screven, Tattnall, or Toombs.

  • The recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • The recipient must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours.)

(4) Full Year Scholarships $1,500 each – $750 each semester


Martha Lamb Scholarship

Student must meet scholarship standards of the School of Nursing. First preference is given to an employee of Brown/Sunbridge Nursing Home between 1992 and 2000, who is in the nursing program, leading from LPH to RN. If the above is not met, then a second preference will be given to a student employed at any nursing home. Student must have financial need. $500


Carlotta Schweiger Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must be outstanding nursing majors. $600

School of Human Ecology Scholarships
Home Builders Association of Statesboro Scholarship

Applicants must demonstrate a genuine vocational or professional interest in the home building industry. Applicants must be majoring in Interior Design. The recipient shall be required to maintain a 3.0 GPA in major subjects and at least an overall 2.5 GPA for overall work. Financial need should be a factor and the student must be enrolled full time. Amount varies each year


Honey Bowen Scholarship

The student must be a full time undergraduate or graduate recreation major. Student must remain in good standing in the program of study. $2,000


Betty Lane Family and Consumer Science Scholarship

The scholarship is available to students pursuing one of the following degrees in the School of Human Ecology:

  1. Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design
  2. Child and Family Development
  3. Interior Design

Department of Health and Kinesiology Scholarships
Aimee Gunnoe Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a senior Athletic Training major to help offset the cost of their certification exam. The scholarship is named in honor of Aimee Gunnoe, former clinical athletic training faculty member killed in an automobile accident in April 2002. Amount varies each year
