Senior Companion Program - Health Outreach
The Senior Companion Program is a volunteer service initiative through which men and women age 60 or older who meet certain income guidelines, can become a member.
Senior Companion volunteers provide assistance and friendship to adults needing non-medical care as well as respite for family members. Volunteers can serve from one to four clients (based on need) through 20 hours of service each week. They visit the homebound/living alone, those with chronic diseases and terminally ill clients. By taking care of simple chores, Senior Companions offer contact with the outside world and often provide the services that the elderly need to live independently.
