Vision

The College of Health and Human Sciences (CHHS) will be recognized as a national model for comprehensive, distinctive, and innovative programs that enhance the health and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities through teaching, scholarship, and service.

Mission

CHHS prepares students who seek careers in professions that promote the health and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. CHHS is composed of the School of Nursing, the Department of Hospitality, Tourism, Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Department of Health and Kinesiology. In addition, the college also houses the Health Outreach Program, the Magnolia Coastlands Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the Child Development Center, the Coaching Education Outreach Center, and the Rural Nursing Outreach Program. This unique blend of disciplines is enjoined to provide educational opportunities, Inspired learning, creative and contemporary scholarship, and socially responsive service activities.
